Let’s also start the year as we mean to go on with this weeks ‘Funky Music Friday’ which is You Make My Dreams by Daryl Hall and John Oates. Put the song on and have a dance and let me know what you thought of it next week!

School Closure Work - Thursday 9th January 2025
Hi Year 5!
It is such a shame we are not in school again today as I am missing you all so much. In the meantime here is more work to keep you busy! Please contact me on Google Classroom if you need any help or aren't sure what to do.
Maths
Lesson: Solve problems involving positive and negative numbers in a range of contexts.
Ext: You could also write some of your own questions using negative numbers (maybe about the weather now!)
English
Lesson: use brackets to add extra, factual information
If this is a little bit tricky or you are usually in Mrs Whitehead's English group please have a go at this!
Keep reading as well as I will be checking and we can have a book chat when we return to school!
See you all soon
Miss Hudson 😊
School Closure Work - Wednesday 8th January 2025
Hi Year 5!
Hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas and start to 2025! I’m looking forward to seeing you all very soon but in the meantime here are some things you can be getting on with to keep you busy.
Maths
Lesson: Identify and place negative numbers on a number line
You can also go on ‘hit the button’ to keep practising your timetables.
English
Lesson: Speech interrupted: inverted commas and punctuation rules
If you finish this, you could write a description of what you can see outside of your window (remember what sort of vocabulary we used for our snowman writing)
Reading records will be checked the first day back so make sure you have read today and have filled your record in !
I look forward to hearing about your work and the books you have been reading too! 😃
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow !
